This is a very very very weird and useless reductionism.. but i thought it would be fun to share something like this..
This thought stuck to mind in my french class when some guys were trying to sell a 'time machine' ..
Off late, we have seen many movies like butterfly effect(s), and more in which the HERO tries to change how the course of events unrolled by going back in time and changing things like the decision taken, etc..
As far as I know, whenever we take a decision, we take another path in another parallel universe..
Donc, "to traverse accross the parallel universes, we just need to construct a time machine"..
Kaisa laga yeh aarbitapa??
then there would be infinite universes!!! cause there is always a probability for us to take any decision after a cause...
ReplyDeletethat would also mean infinite universes would be relative to a man....and hence there would be some infinite power infinite universes...
and now i have a headache!!!
bhai infinite to hoga hi..
ReplyDeletend infinite power infinite is also infinite!!..
(remember that morning assembly in which they proved 'infinity'(and you!!) is god?? as god is still god after all arithmatic operations..)
nd u having headache is not cool as it means u dont know urselves Mr. Infinity !!
hey since i m doing Data Structures, here's a thought that came in my head -
ReplyDeleteyou can think of as travelling forward in time as travelling down a search tree in which every node has infinite children . (every time instant being the node here and the information of the universe at that time instant being the value of that node)... this means travelling in parallel universes will be travelling from one node to another ...so the time machine in real world (as you are defining it ) would be like iterator of my tree .
btw i've written an article based on this, do read it at my blog.

yaar read the post on your bolg ..its interesting..
ReplyDeleteHere, I thought time machine as a rewind/forward thing. So, to travel to parallel universe, u just go to the parent in your tree implementation, and choose the other branch afterwards. So, I inherently in the attempt of reductionism of the concept, assumed the Tree structure of Time space (if its called so).
When you say go tho parent and go to chil, are you travelling in real time? or just this is the indicative motion? If its just indicative motion, then physically, there is no concievable difference. If there is real time taken for the travelling, then there is a notion of speed of time machine!!..
And yes, can time be quantised? I dunno abt that, might be some physics guy might be knowing..
hey first of all - your blog is very good man ,,
ReplyDeletecoming back to our discussion -ok , so you too meant inherintly the tree strucutre only ...right ...
btw i think i missed one key point ,,which is to define whether the time in the nodes is absolute time or relative time .... since time for a person depends on the velocity of the person ..there is nothing called as absolute time (as far as i know) . so we all live in different times ,,just we are not able to concieve the time difference due to very less relative speed . so 'time' for one person may not be same for another person going with some relative velocity . and since we can not define an 'absolute time' ,, this means that the 'time' in the time nodes must be 'time' percieved by the person travelling this tree .
so in the question ' When you say go tho parent and go to chil, are you travelling in real time? ' what do you mean by 'real time' ?
(i think things have become quite complicated now and i too feel the need of physics guy in the discussion ..)
and dont know whether time can be quantized or not either .. but i think there were some hypothetical theories proposing the same ...
yeh parallel universe waala mere dimaag main bhi aaya tha....I saw action replay and that was the first thing that came to my mind...FYI there were many many flaws in that movie....but yeah....I completely agree with your arbit thought. :)
ReplyDeleteand I loved Mungre's idea about trees and specially the part "we are just not able to concieve the time difference due to very less relative speed"....something to think about....
